Based on the headline, this starts out sounding pretty good:
Revolut Launches Easiest & Fastest way to Buy Cryptocurrency
But then, further down is this very carefully worded question answer:
Which cryptos will Revolut support?
We’ll give customers exposure to Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
“Exposure” seems like a telling choice of word. Sure enough, down amongst the comments is this reply from a moderator:
At the moment we do not allow external transfers in crypto but we may consider this option in the future.
So there you have it. What Revolut have actually added is cryptocurrency speculation. No transfers of cryptocurrency either in or out, so you can’t use this to pay or be paid (save for within Revolut itself).
To be clear: I think Revolut is a great service and I use it myself1. This is a little disappointing, though.
